The Gate is a sculpture created under the assumption that the ball finials we encounter daily in our lives have fluidity and autonomy. Ball finials, which serve as boundaries separating inside and outside, or signify domains and welcome those who enter, are typically purposefully crafted and exist passively only as objects. By imbuing these objects with fluidity, autonomy, and even smell—elements that are not normally associated with them—the artist aims to redefine the relationship between humans and objects, offering the potential to overturn existing hierarchies. The sculpture is made at the same height as the artist's stature.

An organic smell, resembling cheese and mixed with the scent of soft human flesh, has been used.
